Jumping with (Ashley)Joi
Ashley Joi is one of my favorite trainers on the Centr fitness app. She’s fun, motivating, and makes her workouts accessible. If you don’t subscribe to Centr’s workouts, you can still find Ashley training on her Instagram account and on YouTube (via Popsugar):
…I love when she says, “…boom Boom BOOM BOOM”!
Naps Allowed During Meditation
I enjoyed making that exclusive podcast for you all last week; so much that I think I’ll do more! Since my theme this week has been “less is more”, I’ll keep this one well under 20 minutes.
In the past, when I’ve taught meditation, yoga nidra and yin yoga classes, students expressed concern that they might become so relaxed they fall asleep. Guess what? Sleeping is allowed! It’s a form of yoga nidra (which means “yogic sleep”, so I’m told); and if that’s what your body needs, then it’s a good thing! Here’s a guided meditation for you (set an alarm on your watch or phone if you’re concerned about falling asleep and leaving something roasting in the oven or neglecting to pick up the kids at their socially-distanced playdate.
That’s a Wrap!
More cheesy puns? Yes please—and cheesy wraps! Here’s a quick and nutritious meal for when you’re short on time. Not vegan? Add cheese or some flaked tuna/thinly sliced turkey. Make it your own! Luckily, pesto and hummus go with just about everything. Link to the recipe is below the photo (which never fails to make me hungry every time I see it!)
