YIKES---where has the time gone?
I swear, it's not because no one laughed at my April Fool's post
(opens dashboard; sees date of last post was May 1)
Where the heck have I been?
Greetings and Salud-ations, friends, healthseekers and health-curious!
I’ve been away. I’m sorry, and I’ve missed you.
To be honest, your Health Coach got a new full-time job late last month and has been consumed with learning everything I can about my new role. It’s a high-pressure, intense and fascinating job related to the healthcare industry, and I’m really starting to enjoy it. Sadly, it has taken up not only my time but a fair amount of my brainspace, not leaving much left over for this newsletter. Perhaps one day I will have enough subscribers to do this missive full time; but until then, mama’s gotta keep the lights on.
Not complaining, though: many have lost their jobs in the wake of the pandemic, and I am incredibly grateful to have been able to find full time employment. Being unemployed not only brings financial struggle, it also delivers a fair dose of depression, despair and a left hook to your self-esteem. I know. Not great for one’s mental health…speaking of health.
If you’re one of the millions who were laid off last year, don’t give up. It will get better, I promise.
Anyway, as long as you’re here, why not check out some of these articles I curated just for you?
The Guardian: 10 Exercise Myths ( by Daniel E Lieberman)
What do you think about these exercise myths? Agree? Disagree?
How’s things in the kitchen these days?
During the height of last year’s pandemic, were you one of those WFH snackers? Sourdough bakers? Dalgona baristas? Wanna-be reality show “cheftestants”?
If you were some, all, or none of these: no judgement here! We all did what we had to do to cope, with varying results. Now that we’re back to shopping in the supermarkets a little more like the “before times”, how will we proceed?
Now With Purpose’s Kim Luongo has some suggestions.
Make Healthy Eating Easier With These Smart Tips
Do you plan on eating and/or grocery shopping differently now that restrictions have lifted in most places?
Finally, let me leave you with a mental health post that I hope will give YOU hope.
(originally seen on LinkedIn, a place where I spent a lot of time during my pandemic job search)
I’ll try to post again soon. If there’s more (or less) of a particular type of content that you’d like to see, let me know in the comments.
